The naira weakened against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Monday. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the currency slipped to N1,379.65 per dollar, compared with N1,379.62 recorded on Friday.
The daily depreciation amounted to just N0.03 per dollar. At the parallel market, however, the naira held steady at N1,430 per dollar, matching Friday's closing rate.
The country's foreign reserves reached $51.77 billion as of July 10, 2026. The currency had already posted losses at the official market the previous Friday, capping off a weak week for the naira.
