United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc will host its latest quarterly business series on Thursday, 16 July 2026 at 11:00 a.m. (WAT), bringing together entrepreneurs and investors to discuss building technology solutions tailored to African markets. The event, themed "Building for Africa's Realities: Turning Consumer Feedback into Technology-Driven Solutions," will stream live across UBA's digital platforms including YouTube.

The lineup includes rapper and entrepreneur M.I Abaga, venture capitalist Ashim Egunjobi who co-founded Octerra Capital, and Femi Aluko, co-founder and chief executive of Chowdeck. Media entrepreneur Adaora Mbelu will moderate the conversation.

These speakers have direct experience building products for African consumers. They're expected to discuss how they've listened to customer needs and adapted their offerings accordingly.

Alero Ladipo, UBA's Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, told reporters the session reflects the bank's backing for Africa's entrepreneurs. "The best African businesses are not guessing what their customers want, they are listening, adapting and building accordingly," she said.

Ladipo added that UBA wants to make this discipline accessible to every entrepreneur. "Through this edition of the UBA Business Series, we want to put that discipline within reach of every entrepreneur, and create a platform where honest conversations about product, technology and growth can take place," she noted.

She emphasised that when African companies build solutions suited to local conditions, the entire continent gains. "When our businesses build for Africa's realities, the whole continent benefits," Ladipo said.

Participants can join from anywhere, with the session available virtually across UBA's official channels. Those interested can follow along online without attending in person.

The quarterly UBA Business Series has grown into a major knowledge hub for entrepreneurs, professionals and business leaders seeking insights and strategies. The platform helps participants navigate a changing business environment and build sustainable enterprises.

UBA employs more than 25,000 people across Africa's financial sector. The bank serves over 45 million customers globally across 20 African countries as well as the United Kingdom, the United States, France and the United Arab Emirates.

The institution provides retail, commercial and institutional banking services. It's also focused on expanding financial inclusion through technology innovations across the continent.
