Barcelona has struck a deal with Newcastle United for winger Anthony Gordon. The transfer package is worth approximately €80 million.

Both clubs are pushing to finalize the move before Gordon joins England's World Cup training camp in the United States. Sources say negotiations accelerated dramatically over recent days.

According to reports, Barcelona will pay €80 million for the England international. A sell-on clause is also part of the agreement.

Bayern Munich had also pursued Gordon but wasn't prepared to match Newcastle's asking price. The Spanish champions moved swiftly to secure the deal ahead of their German rivals.

Gordon's contract at Newcastle runs until 2030, strengthening the club's negotiating position considerably. He was valued at around €60 million in the market.

Newcastle originally paid Everton €45.6 million for Gordon in 2023. The club will make a substantial profit on that investment.

Last season, Gordon proved to be Newcastle's standout performer. He netted 18 goals across all competitions for the Magpies.

He signed a long-term contract extension at St James' Park just months ago in October. Yet he still emerged as the club's most likely major departure.

Newcastle finished 12th in the Premier League this season. The financial windfall from Gordon's sale will help the club reshape its squad.

Everton will also benefit from the transfer thanks to a 15 percent sell-on clause. That clause was included in Gordon's original move to Newcastle from Goodison Park.
