Newcastle United has entered the bidding race for AIK's talented Nigerian prospect Zadok Yohanna. Brighton & Hove Albion had seemed positioned to land him after tabling a €23m offer last weekend.

But Newcastle upped the ante with a €24 million bid for the young winger. Both clubs are now negotiating directly with the Swedish side for Yohanna's signature.

The 18-year-old has impressed considerably in Sweden's top division this season. He's netted twice and created three assists across seven league matches for AIK.

Yohanna joined the club from Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria a year ago. His recent form has attracted the attention of two major English Premier League sides.
