Nedu Wazobia Refutes Claims of Misogyny Following Podcast Controversy

By Advocate | June 14, 2024 | 2 min read |

Media personality Nedu Wazobia has addressed accusations of misogyny following a controversial episode of his podcast, The Honest Bunch.

In a video posted to his Instagram on June 13, 2024, Nedu responded to backlash over comments made during the podcast, particularly those by actress Jegede.

Jegede, who appeared on the podcast defending actor Yul Edochie's decision to embrace polygamy, later apologized to Edochie's ex-wife for trivializing her pain.

Following her apology, Nedu posted a cryptic message on Instagram, which Jegede interpreted as a personal attack and called him out on her own Instagram page.

In his video response, Nedu refuted claims that he hates women, citing his female manager, three daughters, and the majority of women in his personal and professional circles. "I don't hate women, I don't.

My manager is a woman, I've got 3 beautiful daughters and pretty much everyone around me is a woman so I don't know where that thinking is coming from," he stated.

Nedu emphasized that The Honest Bunch podcast aims to provide a platform for guests to be honest and transparent, even if the discussions are uncomfortable.

"If you're watching my podcast, please watch with an open mind and understand that you are watching a podcast called The Honest Bunch that would be as honest as possible no matter how uncomfortable the truth may be. The truth needs to be said," he added.

The controversy highlights the challenges and responsibilities of hosting a candid podcast, especially when discussing sensitive topics like polygamy.

As the debate continues, Nedu's response underscores the importance of open dialogue and understanding different perspectives.
