Senator Ned Nwoko has reaffirmed his commitment to accessible and quality healthcare by delivering another round of comprehensive free medical outreach to communities across the Delta North Senatorial District.
The latest exercise, held over two days, provided medical services to hundreds of residents in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, and Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area, with beneficiaries also drawn from neighbouring communities.
A team of visiting doctors, nurses and allied health professionals attended to men, women, children and the elderly, offering consultations and treatment for eye and dental conditions, fever-related illnesses, hypertension and other common health challenges.
Beyond routine care, the outreach recorded surgical interventions and diagnostic X-ray services, while beneficiaries also received free medications and eyeglasses, offering visible relief and renewed hope to many.
The initiative drew prayers and commendations, particularly from elderly participants who expressed appreciation for the senator’s consistent investment in grassroots healthcare delivery.
Addressing over 600 beneficiaries through his Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, Senator Nwoko said the health and well-being of the people remained central to his service, pledging to “continue to serve the best interests of Delta North residents, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.”
He noted that while his constitutional duty at the National Assembly centres on lawmaking for good governance, he places strong emphasis on social welfare and infrastructure as critical drivers of improved living standards.
The senator recalled that during the 2023 Delta North senatorial campaign, he pledged to deliver tangible improvements in healthcare, particularly in rural communities, a promise he said has been steadily fulfilled.
The first phase of the outreach in November 2023 reached over 500 beneficiaries in Idumuje-Ugboko, Umunede and Umusan, while the second phase in September 2024 expanded coverage to more than 600 beneficiaries.
In addition to free medical services, Senator Nwoko has donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to primary healthcare centres in Idumuje-Ugboko, Agbor, Asaba and Kwale, including hospital beds, delivery couches, diagnostic kits, sterilizers, syringes, stethoscopes and other essential tools.
He also provided support facilities such as generators, refrigerators, solar lamps, fire extinguishers, benches and chairs to further strengthen grassroots health infrastructure.
Since his election to the National Assembly, Senator Nwoko has continued to attract commendation across Delta North (Anioma), with constituents describing his representation as people-focused, impactful and exemplary.
