Narcotics agents in Kano have arrested 73 drug suspects in a series of coordinated raids across the state. The operation occurred on June 10 as part of the ongoing "Operation Sharar Mafaka" campaign.

Officers targeted three major drug distribution points. These included the Filin Mahaha den, the Sani Abacha Youth Centre, and multiple locations in the Sheka area.

According to Assistant Superintendent Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, the command's spokesman, agents employed what they call a "dislodge and occupy" strategy. Officers move into drug hotspots, arrest dealers, seize contraband, then maintain presence to stop criminals from returning.

Agents recovered cannabis sativa during the raids. They also seized diazepam, pregabalin, and Exol-5, commonly known locally as "suck and die."

Other materials linked to drug distribution and use were also confiscated. Officials didn't specify exact quantities recovered.

Commander D.Y. Lawal noted the raids represent ongoing efforts to eliminate drug dens statewide.

He vowed the agency would keep escalating operations until traffickers lose all safe spaces.

"We won't stop until drug dealers find nowhere to hide in Kano," Lawal told reporters on Thursday. He emphasized the command's commitment to permanently disrupting criminal networks in the region.

NDLEA officials are now calling on residents for help. Citizens with credible intelligence about drug activities should contact authorities, they said.
