Naira Abuse: Portable Apologizes to EFCC, Seeks Forgiveness for Spraying Money

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for forgiveness, should they have any evidence of him abusing the Naira.

The singer made his plea during a recent Instagram live session, expressing his respect for the government and clarifying that his intentions were never to harm the currency but rather to help the masses.

Portable’s apology comes at a time when the EFCC is set to arraign popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, on similar charges.

This follows the recent imprisonment of crossdresser Bobrisky for the same offense.

The issue of Naira abuse has become a hot topic in Nigeria, with the government taking a firm stance against the practice.

During the live session, Portable admitted to spraying money but argued that it was not his intention to abuse the Naira.

He emphasized that his actions were meant to help people in need, rather than to disrespect the country’s currency.

“After God na government. I’m not mutilating the Naira. I only help a lot of people.

If you see me spraying money, please forgive me,” the singer said, addressing his fans and the EFCC directly.

The singer’s apology has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing their opinions on the matter.

Some have commended Portable for taking responsibility and showing respect for the law, while others have criticized him for engaging in such behavior in the first place.

The EFCC has been actively cracking down on individuals who abuse the Naira, with several high-profile arrests and prosecutions in recent months.

The agency has reiterated its commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that the integrity of the country’s currency is maintained.

The case of Portable and Cubana Chief Priest has brought the issue of Naira abuse to the forefront once again, raising questions about the responsibility of celebrities and public figures in upholding the law and promoting positive values.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with various economic challenges, the government’s efforts to protect the Naira and maintain its value remain crucial.

As the legal proceedings against Cubana Chief Priest and others accused of Naira abuse continue, it remains to be seen how Portable’s apology will affect his case, if any.

However, his public plea for forgiveness serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the law and the impact of public figures on society.
