Music Superstar Tiwa Savage Debuts Acting With ‘Water & Garri’ Movie

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage is set to make her acting debut in a new movie titled “Water & Garri.”

The film, produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, will be released on Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries, marking a significant milestone in Savage’s career.

Directed by Meji Alabi, “Water & Garri” follows the story of Aisha (played by Tiwa Savage), an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her home nation after spending ten years in the United States.

The movie explores Aisha’s life changes following the death of a family member and her journey to confront guilt, reconnect with family, old friends, and a former love.

The film features a talented cast, including Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin, and Andrew Bunting. The project combines compelling storytelling and stunning cinematography, shot in Ghana.

Tiwa Savage, known for her soulful voice and hit songs, is thrilled to take on this new challenge. “My film, from an idea to launching globally on Prime Video, is a dream fulfilled. I’m excited for the world to see the magic we created during filming,” she said.
