Michael Owen believes Jarrod Bowen is ideal to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool. The former Reds striker made the claim after Salah's departure from Anfield.
Salah left Liverpool following their 1-1 draw with Brentford in the Premier League. West Ham's Bowen has emerged as Owen's top choice for the vacancy.
Owen acknowledged Bowen's current situation at West Ham. The Hammers face Championship football next season after their relegation.
"Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't leave," Owen told Premier League Productions. But he insisted circumstances here were different.
According to him, Bowen's career window remains tight. "He has to play in the Premier League," Owen noted.
Owen said an attractive offer could convince Bowen to move. He's backed the winger for years without apology.
"Bowen is the absolute perfect replacement for Salah at Liverpool," he added. Owen didn't waver on his assessment of the 27-year-old.
