Paul Scholes wants Manchester United to move for Elliot Anderson this summer. Speaking on TalkSPORT, the club legend backed the Nottingham Forest midfielder strongly.
Scholes watched Anderson during his Newcastle days and was impressed. He believes United must recruit at least one or two midfielders before next season kicks off.
"I'd be very satisfied if Anderson played alongside Kobbie Mainoo," Scholes told the morning show. Pairing the two youngsters in midfield would excite him, he added.
United face a midfielder shortage after Casemiro's exit at season's end. Anderson represents the profile Scholes thinks the club needs right now.
The former England star didn't suggest Anderson alone would solve their problems. He emphasized the need for depth and quality in the middle of the park.
