Lagos Deputy Governor Hamzat on Nigeria’s Economic Hardship: “Surgical Operation for a Stronger Nation”

In a meeting with Bishop Stephen Adegbite, newly appointed Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat addressed the current economic hardship faced by the country.

He likened the situation to a “surgical operation” that will ultimately lead to a stronger Nigeria.

Hamzat, representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasized the importance of churches and mosques in the development of Lagos State.

He also acknowledged the good relationship between the two offices and commended the state on its commitment to good governance.

Adegbite, who was the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, before his new appointment, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support of the pilgrimage program over the past 24 years.

He also commended the Lagos State government for maintaining a strong relationship between the governor and deputy governor.

As Nigeria faces economic challenges, the Lagos State government has been working on implementing various palliative measures to alleviate the hardships faced by its residents.

The government has sought to reassure the public that they are focused on the success of the state and that the country will emerge stronger from this trying time.

The Lagos State government’s commitment to good governance and maintaining strong relationships with religious institutions has been recognized by both the deputy governor and the newly appointed NCPC Secretary.

It is hoped that these efforts will contribute to a brighter future for Nigeria and Lagos State as the nation undergoes its “surgical operation.”
