Jurgen Klinsmann has named Portugal and Brazil as his top contenders for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 61-year-old German legend made the prediction during a recent appearance on Stick To Football.
Klinsmann drew parallels between Portugal's setup and Argentina's World Cup-winning squad in Qatar. "Everybody plays for Ronaldo," he noted, highlighting Cristiano's influence on the team.
He praised Portugal's depth and their coach Roberto Martinez in particular. Brazil, according to him, also possesses the firepower to claim the trophy.
England shouldn't be written off either, Klinsmann added with a caveat. The Three Lions have the talent required, but only if they truly believe in themselves.
"I think Brazil also has a shot at it, and England has absolute quality if they have the belief," he said. His assessment underscores Portugal as the slight favourite heading into the tournament.
