The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Eddy Sagini Ugboma, a former Secretary to the Council and esteemed elder statesman.

Ugboma, a respected member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council, a former member of the Delta State Civil Service Commission, and a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), passed away on Thursday. He was also the father of renowned comedian Bovi.

In a statement released from the office of the Chairman and made available to journalists, Warri described Ugboma’s death as a profound loss to the PDP, Isoko South, and Delta State at large. "Ugboma was a distinguished elder statesman, administrator, academician, and historian who served in various capacities in the country. He will be greatly missed within the political sphere of both Isoko South and Delta State."

The council chairman further praised Ugboma’s dedication to his community, stating, "Apart from being a consummate politician, Dr. Ugboma was a community leader who demonstrated a profound commitment to his people and made significant contributions to the development of the Iveogbo-Irri community in Isoko South."

Extending his condolences, Warri added, "A devoted patriot who led a life of integrity, dedication, and decency has passed away. On behalf of the government and people of Isoko South, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the immediate family of Dr. Eddy Ugboma and the Irri Kingdom. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find the strength to bear this loss. Amen."
