I’m Now Millionaire – Fireboy

Nigerian singer Fireboy DML opened up about his journey to becoming a millionaire and the impact it has had on his music.

The YBNL signee, who rose to fame with his debut album Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps in 2019, has since experienced a significant change in his perspective and approach to music.

Fireboy DML, whose real name is Adedamola Adefolahan, revealed that he was reluctant to release his hit song “Peru” in 2021, but the track’s success has since propelled him to new heights.

The song even received a remix featuring British superstar Ed Sheeran, further cementing Fireboy’s status as a rising star in the music industry.

The singer also shared that he is now a millionaire and that this newfound wealth has influenced his music and creative process.

However, he acknowledged that some fans have criticized his new style, which he attributes to his personal growth and evolution as an artist.

Fireboy defended his artistic choices, stating, “How do you expect a 27-year-old millionaire who has seen life, experienced life to make another album like LTG again? Think about it.”

He also mentioned that Olamide, the founder of YBNL and a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene, has been supportive of his growth and has allowed him to make his own decisions.

Despite the criticism, Fireboy remains confident in his abilities and is determined to continue growing as an artist. “I didn’t like ‘Peru’ at first, I didn’t want to drop it,”

he admitted, but the success of the song has proven that sometimes taking risks and stepping out of one’s comfort zone can lead to great rewards.
