Hardship in Nigeria: Northern Monarchs Urge FG to Take Action

In a recent meeting held in Kaduna, the Northern Traditional Council (NTC), led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, expressed their concerns about the escalating socio-economic challenges in Nigeria and the Northern region in particular.

They informed the Federal Government that traditional rulers, religious leaders, and state governors can no longer pacify the people from revolting against political leaders.

The Sultan mentioned that the hardship, insecurity, poverty, and unemployment have reached a level where the traditional leaders can no longer keep the masses and jobless youths from revolting.

He emphasized that people are quiet for a reason, as they have been listening to the leaders, but their patience is wearing thin. The Sultan stressed that it is the government’s responsibility to find solutions to these problems.

The traditional rulers and religious leaders have been working to calm the people down and assure them that things will be okay.

However, they cannot continue to do so without the government taking concrete actions to address the rising poverty and insecurity in the region.

The Sultan acknowledged that the current government is a continuation of the previous one and questioned why the situation has not improved.

He urged the government to work with the traditional leaders, as they have a strong connection with the people and can help find solutions to the problems.

In conclusion, the Northern Monarchs have called on the Federal Government to take immediate action to address the socio-economic challenges in Nigeria, particularly in the Northern region.

Failure to do so may result in a revolt by the people, who are no longer willing to remain silent in the face of hardship and insecurity.
