Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo, says he has ordered an investigation into the disengagement letters issued in the last couple of weeks to workers at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media Projects to the Governor, Crusoe Osagie, and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Benin.

Obaseki, in the statement, also disclaimed all disengagement letters issued to the affected workers of AAU.

It also stated that action would be taken swiftly on anyone found to have issued the letters.

The statement added that Obaseki also insisted that the disengagement letters were illegal, null and void.

The governor maintained in the statement that his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare in the university is sacrosanct.

According to the statement, Obaseki’s administration upholds the interest of the university workers and will continue to position the state as a suitable place to live and work.
