George Orogun: Pragmatic Aspirant with Capacity to Deliver

By Oniovosa Jennifer,

Don’t be deceived, the good people of Ethiope Federal Constituency shall not fall into the antics of vote buyers and money bags going about buying peoples’ conscience with material things and cash gifts.

A man with pedigree and strength of character will never apply the short cut method to get to power; and when that happens; you sure know that all will not be well. Great leaders offer themselves for service to humanity and in most advanced democracies it is the electorates that contribute financially towards the campaign expenses of choice aspirants.

But here in Africa especially Nigeria, you have to  be very rich and be willing to buy the conscience of people with large sums of money in other to be elected into political and leadership office. This reason is responsible for non-performance by majority of elected representatives from National Assembly through House of Assembly to Local Council. It has restricted our poor youth from being elected into public offices. Too bad!

Ethiope Federal Constituency has never been lucky to have good representation because of the greedy and self centered attitude of some people who allow their conscience to be bought with petty cash, farm tools, keke, Tokunbo cars, bicycles and cutlasses. It’s painful and it’s time to adopt a new approach so as to bring about genuine development that touches on the life of our people.

All that we have seen and witnessed in the past are mere political showmanship, flashing of peanuts and distribution of crumbs from elected representatives’ tables; and the time to stop these backward representations is now. Why should we judge the competence of an aspirant with cash and material gifts?

Make no mistakes; the guys going about sharing these things won’t deliver. You have been paid already hence you must never complain if you don’t get extras once he or she is elected in 2019. The people needs quality life through capacity building and human capital development through vocational and technical training backed up with financial grants, soft loans and equipment. Not keke, not Tokunbo cars, not petty cash gifts please!

Looking around and with ears to the ground, we discovered that one of the frontline aspirants in Ethiope Federal Constituency, Barrister George Orogun,  a seasoned banker and Chief Economic Adviser to His Excellency, the Governor of Deltans State, engaged himself in modest and realistic consultations devoid of cash and material gifts.

He has done the needful by explaining his agenda, a paradymn shift from mere sharing of cash and material gifts during political consultations and campaign to focus on genuine dividends of democracy through vocational  and technical training of our women and youth, give them starter packs and get them to have unhindered access to soft loans and financial grants based on cluster-groups and/or cooperative societies in line with the vision of Gov Okowa, targeting youth and women and providing durable and sustainable job and wealth creation as in YAGEP and STEP.

Orogun’s competence cannot be faulted due to his long history as an achiever in terms of attaining set out goals. He did it while in the banking and financial sectors of our nation’s economy, and as a seasoned banker, as Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Economy Planning and as the incumbent Chief Economic Adviser to Gov Okowa of Delta State.

The vibrant economy of Delta State and the enviable economic sense of the smart governor which has singled out Delta as the number one state in job and wealth creation, roads infrastructure and lot more, are as a result of the quality advise given by George Orogun and other members of the State Executive Council.

It follows that George Orogun main concern is to provide essential and pragmatic leadership laced with positive developmental segmentation that affords the people an apple opportunity to enjoy life through genuine and lasting job and wealth creation, attract huge infrastructure development to the constituency, raise young millionaires in Ethiope East and West LGAs and not to insult our people with peanuts and worthless material gifts that are not life sustaining on a long term basis. What a poor representation!

Delegates under the PDP must never vote based on cash and material material gifts as it amounts to selling or mortgaging your future and that of the good people of Ethiope East and West.

Vote for a credible aspirant with an excellent track record with required work experience in both private and public sector that knows the in and out of good governance. Orogun comes reflects our collective 2019 choice.

Orogun has shown sufficient capabilities in both private and public work experience as a former top senior management staff of defunct Oceanic Bank, as a private business man and above all as a seasoned technocrat with Delta State government. He has proved his onions beyond reasonable doubts.

It is in the best interest of the people of Ethiope Federal Constituency for delegates to vote Orogun in the forthcoming party primaries. Make no mistakes, good governance is key to human existence and remains the panacea for quality leadership and development in constitutional democracies around the world.

George Orogun is the man good enough to go for the people of Ethiope Federal Constituency and not any other pretender and failed representative currently on a face saving mission, painting towns and villages red with peanuts, petty cash and worthless materials. Don’t ever sell your conscience and integrity. It’s not with it.

Give your vote to Geoege Orogun, the man with medas touch.
