Ganduje hails Uzodimma, Ododo for winning Imo, Kogi governorship elections

The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has hailed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his re-election in Saturday’s governorship election.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Edwin Olofu, in Abuja, Ganduje also commended the Kogi electorate for choosing Ahmed Ododo as their next governor in the state’s governorship election.

He said the APC’s triumphs in both states showed that Nigerians were satisfied with the party and its performance.

He added that the APC’s victory in both states demonstrated that the people were grateful for the achievements of Gov. Uzodimma of Imo and the outgoing Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in delivering good governance.

“I am delighted by the APC’s victory in both Kogi and Imo states because it shows that Nigerians value good governance and they want peace and progress in their states.

“As a progressive party, we will always keep our promises to provide good governance.

“The people of Imo and Kogi States can be assured that Uzodimma will continue his development agenda in the state while Ododo will build on the remarkable legacy of Gov. Bello,” he said.

Ganduje congratulated both Uzodimma and Ododo on their remarkable victories and urged the opposition parties to accept the outcome of the elections gracefully.

“You are true Democrats. The truth is that we are all winners at the end of the day; without a strong opposition, there won’t be competition and democracy.

“I urge you to work with Uzodimma and the incoming governor of Kogi, Ahmed Ododo, in the mission of moving your respective states forward.

“You all put up a good fight; as the saying goes, there will always be another opportunity to test your popularity among the voters,” the APC national chairman said.
