Funke Akindele: Late Nollywood Actress Jumoke Aderounmu’s Brother Reveals Details of Her Death

The younger brother of late Nollywood actress Jumoke Aderounmu, known for her role as Esther in the popular sitcom “Jenifa’s Diary,” revealed that his sister passed away in her sleep and was not ill.

He also shared details about the circumstances surrounding her death and her relationship with fellow actress Funke Akindele.

Adeola explained that Jumoke had been planning to relocate to the United Kingdom due to a lack of movie roles in Nigeria.

He mentioned that his sister had reached out to Funke Akindele for help, but her efforts were unsuccessful.

According to Adeola, Jumoke had even asked another actress, Paschaline Alex, to intercede on her behalf, but to no avail.

Despite the lack of communication between Jumoke and Funke, Adeola clarified that he did not personally reach out to the latter, as he did not have her contact information.

He also emphasized that his sister was an introvert who kept to herself and was not ill before her sudden death.

Jumoke Aderounmu has since been buried, but the family plans to organize a tribute event in a church on the 40th day after her passing.

This event will serve as a moment for friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate the life and work of the late actress.

The revelation of Jumoke’s passing has sparked conversations in the Nigerian film industry about the importance of support and collaboration among colleagues.

The late actress’s family hopes that her memory will be honored and that her contributions to Nollywood will be remembered.
