Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has congratulated Nigerians as the country marks Democracy Day on June 12. He urged citizens to keep backing democratic governance for better development nationwide.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri called the day a historic milestone. It represents the resilience and sacrifices of Nigerians fighting for democratic rule, he said.

The governor paid tribute to democracy's heroes, both living and dead. Their struggles helped entrench the democratic system Nigerians enjoy today, he noted.

According to Fintiri, June 12 marks a watershed moment in Nigeria's political history. It reminds citizens that power ultimately rests with the people, he stressed.

His administration remains committed to transparent, inclusive governance aimed at serving citizens better. Such an approach promotes sustainable development across the state.

Fintiri highlighted seven years of achievements in infrastructure and other projects. These accomplishments show democracy delivers when leaders prioritize public interest, he explained.

Citizens must unite behind democratic ideals during the celebration, Fintiri urged. Collective effort remains essential for national progress, he told reporters.

He called on Nigerians to remain peaceful and committed to democracy's principles. Resilience, patriotism, and strong institutions can overcome the country's challenges, he expressed confidence.

Fintiri also appealed for a successful democratic transition going forward. Such a transition would strengthen Nigeria's democracy and secure a brighter future for coming generations.
