eTranzact International Plc is transforming financial access in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. Over 1,000 agents have been onboarded and thousands of PocketMoni terminals are being rolled out across communities.
The expansion operates through eTranzact's PocketMoni Business platform. It aims to bring digital financial services to underserved areas while creating income opportunities for residents.
Local officials partnered with eTranzact on the project. The Zonal Community Development Committee worked with the fintech company to execute the initiative.
Residents can now access everyday banking services nearby. Cash withdrawals, transfers, and bill payments are available within their communities without long journeys.
Gboyega Kareem Adeleke chairs the Zonal Community Development Committee in the area. He praised the initiative as a game-changer for locals.
"Before PocketMoni arrived, people travelled far for basic transactions," Adeleke told reporters. "Now those services exist in communities, through trusted neighbours.
This is real development."
Olalekan Disu oversees Financial Inclusion at eTranzact International Plc. He explained the company's vision during recent discussions about the project.
According to Disu, financial inclusion means more than just product access. "It's about creating opportunities and building community trust," he noted.
The fintech firm is empowering local agents through the expansion. Thousands of terminals deployed are helping stimulate economic activity and create livelihoods.
Disu emphasized the importance of grassroots engagement. Community involvement drives sustainable financial inclusion, he said.
Success in Obafemi Owode shows what's possible in rural areas. Positive response from residents and stakeholders validates the model's effectiveness.
eTranzact plans wider expansion across the south-west region. Other local government areas will receive similar terminal deployments and agent networks.
The broader strategy targets financial access gaps nationwide. It supports Nigeria's shift toward a digitally enabled economy.
Secure and affordable digital services remain the focus. eTranzact believes grassroots communities deserve convenient banking options.
