The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission will arraign former science and technology minister Uche Nnaji before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday. Security operatives arrested Nnaji at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on July 1 when he returned to the capital.
The ICPC is investigating claims that Nnaji forged his academic qualifications, including a degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also allegedly presented a fake National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate during his ministerial screening in 2023.
Nnaji stepped back from President Bola Tinubu's cabinet following the allegations. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik will preside over the case as he enters his plea.
In a separate development, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to lead the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, faces arraignment on Tuesday before the same court. The police will prosecute Adeyemi and two others on eight counts that include forgery and impersonation.
Prosecutor Wisdom Madaki filed the charge on November 27, 2025, referencing case number FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025. The court has listed several witnesses for the trial.
Chief of Staff to the president Femi Gbajabiamila heads the witness list, along with Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede, and Ituah Sylvester. Civil servants Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, both working at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, will also testify.
A deputy superintendent of police completes the roster of those expected to give evidence in the matter.
