The Federation Account Allocation Committee released the figures after its April meeting. Total gross revenue available hit N3.184 trillion that month.

This represented a 34.7% increase compared to March's N2.364 trillion. The rise was driven by stronger tax collections and oil revenues.

An augmentation of N250 billion made up the remainder. Collection costs totaled N113.756 billion for the month.

Statutory revenue performed particularly well in April. Federal government receipts reached N2.378 trillion, exceeding March's N1.699 trillion by N678.224 billion.

VAT collections also strengthened during the period. April generated N806.617 billion against March's N664.425 billion—a gain of N142.192 billion.

Local government councils got N540.152 billion from the main pool. Mineral-producing states shared an additional N157.254 billion as derivation revenue.

From statutory revenue specifically, the federal tier claimed N580.942 billion. State governments' share came to N294.661 billion.

Local councils received N227.172 billion in statutory funds. The N157.254 billion mineral derivation went to qualifying states.

VAT distribution showed a different pattern among the tiers. Federal government took N74.709 billion of the N747.088 billion pool.

States claimed the largest VAT share at N410.898 billion. Local government councils received N261.481 billion from this revenue source.

The N250 billion augmentation was divided among all three levels. Federal government got N131.700 billion, states got N66.800 billion, and councils received N51.500 billion.
