Elegushi Monarch Denies Paternity Claims, Takes Legal Action

The Elegushi of the IkateElegushi Kingdom, Lagos State, Oba Saheed Elegushi, has issued a strong denial of the accusations claiming he is the biological father of Liam Aloba, the son of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

The monarch has also announced that he is taking legal action against those spreading these allegations, which he believes are attempts to tarnish his reputation.

Following Mohbad’s untimely death in September 2023, the late singer’s family and friends have been embroiled in a web of accusations and counter-accusations.

Among the most contentious of these is the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba, with some social media users claiming that the child does not resemble his late father and suggesting that Oba Elegushi could be the real father.

Social media channels, particularly TikTok, have been rife with speculation on the matter.

Users such as Oloriebimusicproduction2, Very Dark Man, and others have been vocal in their calls for a DNA test to determine the child’s true parentage.

Some have even gone as far as to allege that Oba Elegushi may have been involved in Mohbad’s death.

In response to these allegations, Oba Elegushi has issued a statement through his media consultant, Deyemi Saka, firmly denying any connection to the paternity of Liam Aloba.

The monarch described the accusations as baseless and a desperate attempt to defame his character.

He also revealed that a petition has been filed against the individuals spreading these allegations.

The statement read, “We would like to respond to a new desperate attempt at dragging His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, into the needless paternity dispute over the son of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.”

Oba Elegushi has stated that he has enlisted the help of the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies to enforce his fundamental human rights and protect him from cyber bullying.

He hopes that the Nigeria Police will collaborate with international security organizations to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Oba Elegushi has extended his condolences to the family of the late singer, and he has urged the public not to involve the traditional institution in the paternity dispute.

The monarch’s legal action against the individuals spreading these rumors is a clear indication of his determination to protect his reputation and the integrity of his office.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the public will be watching closely to see how this situation develops.

The outcome of this case could have significant implications for the use of social media to spread potentially damaging rumors and the protection of individuals’ reputations in the digital age.
