Edo Guber: PDP Yet to Release List of Venues for Delegates’ Congress

In the lead-up to the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has not yet released the list of venues for the delegates’ congress.

This news comes amidst ongoing internal party disputes and concerns over a potential “Zamfara episode” in Edo State.

The Zamfara episode refers to the 2019 Zamfara State gubernatorial election, where the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was disqualified from participating due to internal party conflicts.

This situation led to the opposition party, the PDP, winning the election by default.

In Edo State, the PDP is currently facing a similar situation with internal disputes between the factions of Governor Godwin Obaseki and the party’s National Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih.

The two factions have been conducting parallel congresses, and there are concerns that this could lead to a similar disqualification scenario as in Zamfara.

As the party works to resolve these internal conflicts and avoid a potential Zamfara episode, the list of venues for the delegates’ congress has not yet been released.

The delegates’ congress is a crucial step in the process of selecting the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2024 election.

The delay in releasing the list of venues has led to some speculation and uncertainty among party members and supporters.

However, the party leadership has assured the public that they are working diligently to resolve the issues and that the list of venues will be released in due time.

In conclusion, the Edo State chapter of the PDP has not yet released the list of venues for the delegates’ congress, as the party continues to address internal disputes and avoid a potential “Zamfara episode.”

The public and party members are eagerly awaiting the release of the list and the resolution of the ongoing internal conflicts.
