“We should not allow our morale to be dampened but rather we should use this year’s Easter celebration as an opportunity to increase family bonding, intercession and practical demonstration of love to neighbours.

“The absence of large gathering for worship and celebrations must not take away the true essence of Easter which is the good news that Jesus Christ is alive

“The low key celebration of this year’s Easter season occasioned by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is like the mood of the people of Samaria during a siege recorded in 2nd Kings Chapters 6 and 7. Just like the people of Samaria who appeared helpless in those years obtained help from the Almighty God and overcame the siege, Nigeria will also overcome its present challenges by the help of God and move into its season of greater joy in due course.

“Let us rejoice in the unchangeable fact that Jesus Christ whose resurrection is being celebrated has promised in His word that He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Him.

“I pray that God heals everyone currently infected with the Coronavirus and protect all caregivers and front line workers currently working to stop the spread of the COVID-19.

“I appeal to relevant organs of government for a more sustainable economic and medical intervention.”
