Holland demolished Sweden 5-1 in Houston on Saturday night. Cody Gakpo and Brian Brobbey each netted twice in a devastating attacking performance.

Ronald Koeman's squad claimed their first tournament win after drawing with Japan in their opener. The victory sent a stark message to every other team still competing.

Group F standings now have Holland on top with four points. Sweden sits second with three, Japan has one, and Tunisia remains pointless.

Brobbey struck inside five minutes off a Gakpo cross. The Sunderland forward made it 2-0 in the 17th minute with another sharp finish.

His international goal tally now stands at three. Gakpo took over after halftime, scoring twice to end the contest as a contest.

Anthony Elanga briefly offered Sweden hope just before the hour mark. His classy finish came too late to spark any real comeback.

Holland restored control quickly. Crysencio Summerville entered as a substitute and sealed the rout with a fifth goal.

Koeman celebrated the dominant display after full-time. "If you look at the goals we scored, that will cause fear among opponents," he told reporters.

According to him, the pace and quality on display makes his team incredibly dangerous. "The way those goals came about, in transition with a lot of pace and a lot of quality, means we can be incredibly dangerous," Koeman added.

Sweden haven't been eliminated just yet. They still have a final group match against Japan to fight for knockout stage qualification.

The Swedes created chances throughout but couldn't finish them. Holland's clinical edge in attack proved the decisive difference.

Graham Potter managed Sweden on the night. In his post-match comments, the coach acknowledged his team's defensive shortcomings.

"We attacked and had some opportunities, but obviously defensively you can't concede that many goals and hope to win," Potter told BBC TV. He insisted his squad will learn from the experience.

"Sometimes you have to have these experiences," Potter noted. "I didn't think it was that type of game, but that's the scoreline, and we have to accept it and learn from it."

Holland now controls Group F entirely. Qualification to the knockout rounds appears almost certain for Koeman's side.
