The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has congratulated Prof. Presly Ogheneruke Obukoadata on his appointment as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of Southern Delta University, expressing confidence that his leadership will elevate academic standards at the institution.
In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Ehvwubare Oghenekparobo, the Forum described the appointment as well-deserved, citing the professor’s distinguished career and contributions to academia and media development.
The Forum noted that Prof. Obukoadata is “an erudite scholar, seasoned academic, and a distinguished intellectual whose contributions to education and media development remain invaluable,” adding that his experience would strengthen teaching, research, and academic administration in the university.
DOPF expressed optimism that the institution would witness significant academic growth under his stewardship, given his track record of excellence and capacity building.
Recalling his engagement with the Forum, the statement highlighted his impactful role at the 2025 Annual Convention of DOPF, where he delivered lectures on media entrepreneurship.
“Professor Obukoadata is not only a scholar of repute but also a mentor whose passion for knowledge dissemination and capacity building is evident. His session at our 2025 convention remains a reference point for many media practitioners,” the statement read.
The Forum also commended the management of Southern Delta University for prioritising merit in its appointment process, describing the decision as a step in the right direction for institutional development.
It further wished the new DVC a successful tenure marked by innovation, excellence, and impactful leadership, noting that his appointment reflects growing recognition of intellectual capacity within Delta State’s academic landscape.
