Delta cleric urges Ibori quit politics to avoid embarrassment

 

A cleric in Delta State, the General Overseer of Promise Kingdom Ministry in Sapele, Bishop Godday Iboyi Okokporo, JP, has enjoined the former governor of the state, Chief James Onanefe Ibori to quit active politics to avoid further embarrassment to his political career.

 

The Cleric stated that not withstanding Ibori’s past political achievements, it is time for him to take a bow from politics since his control of power was beginning to wane in the state.

 

The Bishop of the church popularly call Overflow, while prophesying  at the church auditorium today in Igbeku, Amukpe Sapele, said the former Delta governor interference in certain issues affecting the State was becoming alarming, saying that the Lord has revealed to him that soon there will be a total rebellion against his decision.

 

“You have done well as a man, you have brought development to your people, but let me tell you too that it is time to step down and apply wisdom in your political life.

 

I am seeing people who are beneath you, accusing you that you cannot be the leader of the state forever, if you step down, you will have more respect and more fame because I see you talking and no one seems to be taking your counsel and then they will begin to see you as threat,” he added.

The Okpe born Bishop also called on politicians from Okpe extraction to be weary of their followers, adding he is foreseeing another rebellion from the youths if the people are ignored for too long.
