Davido Reveals No Communication with Wizkid and Burna Boy in the Afrobeats Scene

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, recently made a revelation about his relationship with fellow artists Wizkid and Burna Boy during an appearance on the American show, Sway’s Universe.

The ‘Unavailable’ singer disclosed that he, Wizkid, and Burna Boy do not communicate with each other, despite being prominent figures in the Afrobeats music scene.

When asked by the show’s host, Sway, if there is any communication between him and his colleagues, Davido shook his head in the negative, indicating that there is no communication between the three artists.

This revelation has sparked discussions among fans and the music industry, as many have assumed that Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy are the current top stars in the Afrobeats world.

Davido also addressed the comparison between him and his colleagues, downplaying the notion that they are all equally big stars in the Afrobeats scene.

He emphasized that he is the only big Afrobeats artist, suggesting a competitive spirit among the trio.

Despite the lack of communication and the competitive nature of the Afrobeats industry, it is worth noting that Davido shared last year that both Wizkid and Burna Boy reached out to him during a difficult time.

The artists showed their support and solidarity with Davido following the tragic loss of his first son, Ifeanyi, in a swimming pool accident.

As the Afrobeats genre continues to gain global recognition and prominence, the dynamics between artists like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy will be closely watched.

Fans and industry observers alike are eager to see if there will be any change in their communication and collaboration in the future, as the Afrobeats scene continues to evolve and expand on the international stage.
