Court Grants Ex-Law Dean N250m Temporary Bail for Surgery

Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar, Prof. Cyril Ndifon.

The court has set the bail amount at N250 million, which must be paid by January 10th, 2024.

Prof. Ndifon was suspended from his position at the University of Calabar following allegations of sexual harassment.

The court’s decision to grant him bail comes as a relief to the former dean, who is now able to undergo much-needed eye surgery.

The bail conditions include a requirement for Prof. Ndifon to provide a travel passport and swear an affidavit of means.

The court has also set the bail to expire on January 25th, 2024, at which time a formal bail application will be heard.

This news has sparked a variety of reactions on Twitter, with users expressing their opinions on the matter.

Some argue that the bail amount is excessive, while others believe that the court has made the right decision in granting Prof. Ndifon the opportunity to receive medical treatment.
