Breaking Senator Peter Nwaoboshi decamps to APC, meets President Buhari

The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senate Peter Nwaoboshi has decamped to the All Progressive Congress, few days after been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State following his recent attacks on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Nwaoboshi has been at loggerhead with the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa which led to a one month suspension placed on him by the Delta State Working committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) earlier this week.

A statement purportedly signed by Garba Shehu, captioned “President Buhari Congratulates Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi for Decamping to APC’ noted that President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja welcomed Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi to the All Progressives Congress (APC), after he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying “you are welcome to the progressives family.’’

“Sen. Nwaoboshi, representing Delta North District, Delta State, was presented to President Buhari and National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at the State House by Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

“The Deputy Senate President said Senator Nwaoboshi’s decision to join the APC clearly shows that the effort of the CECPC was yielding fruit.

“The Senator was warmly welcomed by party members.”

Efforts to reach the Senator for confirmation proved abortive as at press time.
