Sam Amadi, who heads the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, says Atiku Abubakar hasn't yet made a public announcement. The African Democratic Congress presidential candidate is keeping Nigerians waiting, he argued.

Amadi posted on X that Atiku is yet to publicly name Rotimi Amaechi as his vice presidential pick. "May be he will do so soonest," Amadi wrote in his message.

On Monday, the ADC officially announced Amaechi as Atiku's running mate for 2027. Party spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi made the disclosure via a statement.

According to Abdullahi, Amaechi was picked following extensive consultations with stakeholders. The former Rivers State governor brings significant political experience to the ticket.

But Amadi's observation highlights a curious gap. Despite the party's announcement, Atiku himself hasn't publicly unveiled his running mate to Nigerians.
