Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries slated for Friday, May 15, 2026, former federal lawmaker, Hon. Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi, has secured support from party executives and stakeholders across Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Local Government Areas.
The endorsements came during an extensive consultation tour by the former two-term member of the House of Representatives, which commenced from his hometown, Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Addressing party leaders and executives during the meetings, Ahwinahwi formally declared his intention to contest for the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency seat under the APC platform.
He argued that, based on the existing political understanding and zoning arrangement within the constituency, it is the turn of Ughelli North to produce the next House of Representatives member.
Ahwinahwi said his decision to rejoin the race was inspired by his passion for service and his commitment to delivering effective representation to the people of the constituency.
The former lawmaker expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections, commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as impactful leadership and developmental strides deserving of a second term.
He appealed to party executives and delegates to rally behind his aspiration during the primaries, assuring them of accessible, inclusive, and people-oriented representation if elected.
“I am fully prepared to continue serving our people with dedication, experience, and commitment. I believe together we can strengthen the party and ensure victory for APC in 2027,” he stated.
In separate remarks, APC chairmen and executives across the three local government areas openly declared support for Ahwinahwi’s aspiration, describing him as an experienced politician with a proven record of representation.
Chairman of APC in Udu Local Government Area, Evangelist David Siloko, disclosed that Ahwinahwi was the first and only aspirant for the House of Representatives seat to personally visit and consult with the Udu APC executive members ahead of the primaries.
Similarly, Chairman of Agbarho Ward 2, Chief Efe Olotu, speaking on behalf of ward executives, pledged total support for the former lawmaker and offered prayers for his success at the forthcoming APC primaries.
Political observers say the growing wave of endorsements across the constituency has significantly strengthened Ahwinahwi’s momentum ahead of Friday’s crucial APC contest.
