A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to join the ruling party.
This comes as 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have already defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
During a New Year luncheon hosted by the FCT Minister in his country home, Rumueprikom, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, the National Vice Chairman of the APC, South-South, Chief Victor Giadom, expressed his desire to see Wike join the party.
Giadom also officially welcomed the 27 defecting members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The move has sparked speculation about the future of the PDP in the state, as well as the potential impact on the upcoming elections.
Political analysts are closely watching the situation to see how this development will influence the political landscape in Rivers State and the wider South-South region.
