AFCON 2023: Equatorial Guinea Coach Juan Micha Vows to Continue Mission Despite Draw with Nigeria

In the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Equatorial Guinea’s head coach, Juan Micha expressed mixed feelings about his team’s performance after a draw against Nigeria in their Group B opener.

Despite the result, Micha remains determined to continue the team’s mission in the tournament.

The Nzalang Nacional were able to resist the offensive might of the Super Eagles thanks to the great form of goalkeeper Jesus Ngua, who was subsequently named Man of the Match.

However, the Equatorial Guinea coach was not satisfied with the result, stating that he intended to continue working towards achieving his objectives in this edition of AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

Micha told newsmen that he considered this result an achievement but not a complete one. He said, “I think this selection that I lead is prepared day by day to compete in this tournament.

I am lucky to know the details of football, having been a high-level player.”
The coach emphasized that his team’s mission is not complete and that they still have a lot to do.

With their next match against Guinea-Bissau on Thursday, a victory would allow Equatorial Guinea to take a step towards the round of 16.

Equatorial Guinea has a history of overcoming challenges, having qualified for the tournament despite having players without top league experience in Europe.

Their determination and commitment to the mission have been a driving force in their progress.

As the team looks forward to their next match, coach Juan Micha remains confident in their ability to continue their mission and achieve their objectives in the tournament.
