Akor Adams says Sevilla earned their dramatic comeback victory through sheer hard work and determination.
The Nigerian striker came off the bench to net the winner in the dying moments against Espanyol on Saturday. His goal secured a 2-1 triumph at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium after García Plaza's side fought back from behind.
It was Adams' ninth league goal this season for the Rojiblancos. Speaking to the club's official website, he expressed his delight at the result.
"I'm very happy for the three points, for my teammates," Adams noted. "We worked hard and we're very happy with the three points."
Sevilla climbed to 12th position on the LaLiga table following the win. They now sit three points clear of the relegation danger zone.
Villarreal awaits them in their next league fixture. The Madrid-based club will be looking to build on this crucial victory.
