A 48-year-old man sits in police custody in Adamawa. He's accused of luring a 13-year-old housegirl into his home and sexually assaulting her throughout the night.

The suspect lives alone in Yolde Pate, within Yola South Local Government Area. Police say he deliberately brought the girl to his apartment on the fateful night.

The girl's employer had reported her missing after she vanished without a trace. Intensive searches failed to locate her until police got involved in the case.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police spokesman, identified the suspect as Adamu Mohammed. He told reporters the investigation is ongoing and gathering momentum.

Nguroje promised swift justice for the victim. The suspect will face prosecution once detectives complete their inquiry into the matter.
