Abaribe Calls for Amendment of Electoral Act to ‘Remove Human Element’

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has called for an amendment to the Electoral Act in order to remove the human element from the electoral process.

This move comes as a response to concerns about the integrity of the electoral system and the need to ensure free and fair elections.

Speaking at a press conference, Abaribe emphasised the importance of having a transparent and reliable electoral system that is free from human interference.

He said, “We need to remove the human element from the electoral process to ensure that the will of the people is truly reflected in the outcome of elections.”

Abaribe’s call for an amendment to the Electoral Act has been met with support from various quarters, with many expressing the belief that such a move would help to restore confidence in the electoral system.

The proposed amendment to the Electoral Act is expected to be debated in the Senate in the coming weeks.

If passed, it could have far-reaching implications for the conduct of elections in Nigeria.
