Okakuro Ede Dafinone

WHY I STAND WITH EDE DAFINONE

If there is one thing the Urhobo nation and its people have suffered remarkably over the last twenty-three years, it is poor political representation from her political leaders.

Expectedly, the Urhobo nation has been worse off as a result of this sad development, which has resulted in their lack of influence and visibility in national politics, this is even as they have been relegated in Delta State politics, where they ought to be the political leaders of the State given their demographic value, which places them as the largest ethnic group in Delta State.

The Urhobo nation has found itself in this derogatory situation not because it lacks gifted, brilliant and adroit political minds, but because, those who have seized and highjacked the Urhobo political space in the last twenty-three years, have used the same to pursue their personal and group interests at the expense of the growth and development of Urhoboland and its people.

But the truth is, the Urhobo nation cannot continue like this if we must take our rightful place at the national and state level of our nation’s political system.

It is against this background that, as we head towards the 2023 general election, Urhobos must ensure that only competent and reliable persons, with unblemished and proven track records, are elected to represent them at all levels of government.

Basically, among those presently jostling to represent the Urhobo nation at the Senate come next year, Chief Ede Dafinone towers higher above the rest candidates.

Chief Ede Dafinone does not only possess the character, educational background, exposure, experience and leadership traits to give the Urhobo selfless and effective representation at the Senate, but he is also unlike our traditional politicians who only think and see political offices and positions as an avenue to steal and acquire ill-gotten wealth at the expense of those they represent.

Chief Ede Dafinone is no doubt a refined, compassionate and purpose-driven leader.

He has demonstrated these leadership traits in his private and personal capacity, where he has over the years empowered hundreds of men and women, through vocational training using the platform of his Foundation– the Dafinone Foundation.

We don’t need to be told that Chief Ede Dafinone is not going to the Senate to acquire wealth at the expense of the Urhobo nation as most of our representatives have done in the past; he is from reputable and wealthy family background, that have engrained its name in the World Guinness book of records.

Chief is arguably going to the Senate to make a difference and raise the bar as far as legislative representation is a concerned.

With Chief Ede Dafinone, the Urhobo nation is sure of meaningful and far-reaching representation, which would ultimately translate to the progress and development of Urhoboland and its people.
