Ubogo Community Inaugurates New Executive Committee

Oil-rich Ubogo Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, on Monday, August 29th,2022 inaugurated its New Executive Committee to pilot the affairs of the community for the next three years.

Those who subscribed to the oath of office include; Engr. Chughiefe Lucky, President; Samuel Uwhejevwu-Togbolo, Vice President; Otoro Daniel Oghoverere, Secretary;  Eteyeba Temple Anthony, Financial Secretary; Daniel Atini, Treasurer; Frank Oshowho, Provost; Okuku Nyenrhovwon, Assistant Secretary;  Berie Thompson, Spokesman.

Others are: Remember Berhire, Asst. Spokesman; Dimise Micheal, Auditor 1; Isaiah Odjadjere, Auditor II; Omoyibo Micheal, Auditor III; Jeremiah Ephu, PRO;  Comrade Koko God’spower, Youth Leader; Joseph Ogheneovo, Youth Secretary; Moses Fesa, Assistant Youth Leader; Onoseme Akpewe, Youth Treasurer; God’stime Epinirorhon, Youth Organizer; and Godwin Evuavwobor, Assistant Youth Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in President of Ubogo, Engr. Chughiefe Lucky, thanked God for the successful  election and inauguration of the new executive committee, saying that it “marks another significant milestone in the history of Ubogo Community leadership.”

He thanked the outgoing executive committee, elders, women groups, opinion leaders, youth leaders and the entire people of Ubogo for giving him the privilege to pilot the affairs of the community for the next three years.

While promising to operate an open and transparent administration, he vowed to be fair to all concerned and protect the interest of all families.

He added; “In the management of community resources, the interest of all families shall be protected. We shall explore other legal and genuine alternative sources of wealth creation to meet up with the development initiative of this new administration.”

“We will initiate and build soul-touching projects that will be beneficial to all sons and daughters of the community on the principle of priority and stem belief that what touched us all should be first served; and completion of old projects initiated by the past administration if any.”

In the area of security, the newly sworn-in President promised to provide an enabling environment for all indigenes and residents. While urging youths of the community to be law abiding in order not to incur the wrath of the law, the Newly Sworn-in President further read the riot act against cultism, saying that stiff resistance will be meted. “Let me sound it very clear, that there will be zero tolerance for cult activities in the community, indiscipline in any guise shall be meted with stiff resistance as a breach of Ubogo peace shall be visited with the long arms of the law to any culprit”.

High points of the ceremony were the formal dissolution of the outgoing Thimothy Laya-led executives through a motion moved by Daniel Shitu and Richman Oghenerovwo, the sworn-in of the new Executives which was performed by Barr. Godspower Otirikpen.
