Okakuro Ede Dafinone

We can trust Ede Dafinone with our votes, let’s support him

By Onome Akpososo,

The politics of 2023 is apparently not about political parties but personality. Many political leaders will get the shock of their lives when the result will start trickling in because the people will vote across parties. It happened during the primary elections of the political parties. The mighty fell in many instances. The awareness is high among the people. Those old names whom the people believed had overstayed their welcome in the corridors of power and have contributed to their woes will find no place in the 2023 dispensation. The entitlement mentality which dogged the aspirations of many top politicians will fail them. In 2023 the people will be in charge and whoever thinks he is the lord of the political space without having worked for the people in a selfless and transparently visible manner will be made to kiss the dust.

These are the reasons why Nigerians are clamouring for a true change. At the National level, the cry for change is so loud and deafening. All over Nigeria, the people want a genuine change from the old order. Those who have been in the driver’s seat of the old order which had traumatized the masses to no end are being given the red card. The people are defiant and will do what could give them succour in the coming years. Party loyalty has not helped the majority of the people. The people want good governance and those to be saddled with the responsibility of managing the commonwealth at different levels must be willing to defend them against the wicked system. This is the reason why I have been supporting Chief Ede Dafinone to represent the good people of Delta Central in the Nigerian Senate.

Ede Dafinone represents a breath of fresh air no doubt. Urhobo has produced many illustrious personalities who have done well in the Senate. There are others who did not do well at all. The coming dispensation has no place for those core politicians who live and depend solely on the proceeds of politics for survival. Urhobo needs a man who can stand to defend her honour in all circumstances without any trade-off for personal gains. Ede Dafinone has the right training and upbringing to stand in the gap. As a highly successful private investor and professional, Dafinone will like to relive the successes that trailed the era of his late father, David Dafinone in the Senate. Urhobo does not need men who would go to Abuja to play politics with her honour. We want a man who is sober, transparently honest, trustworthy and sincere enough to represent the people.

Trust is one cardinal attribute that the next senator must resonate with. Urhobo needs a man they can trust with her honour. There are many persons with questionable characters in the political arena contesting for honour and these must be identified irrespective of the political party and shown the door. A man of distinction like Dafinone will be circumspect so as not to stain his garment of honour. He is the man Urhobo needed in 2023 to build on the gains of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s milestone in the senate. Politics is not enough because of integrity and perception of the populace matter. Who amongst those running for senate in Delta Central is more trustworthy than Ede Dafinone? Who can stand better to resist the pressure to sell off assets allocated to Urhobo for personal gains if not Ede Dafinone? Who can leverage on the assets of his family name better than Dafinone who is distinguished in all ramifications?

As remarked earlier in this piece, the politics of 2023 goes beyond political party. The masses are interrogating the value and significant worth the candidates are bringing to the table. They are probing into the content of the candidate’s character. The people want to know the background of the candidate. They are interested in knowing what the candidates have done with opportunities in the past, what they failed to do and the value they resonated with the office held to bring value to the people. The voters want to know whether the candidate had betrayed their trust in the past and the pains suffered from such betrayal.

Yes, Urhobo has seen betrayal over the years and can easily see through the lies and half-truths being promoted to win votes. 2023 will not be business as usual and those who have brought more lies to the market square shall be disappointed as they cannot make any good sales. The hen has come to roost and only men of integrity shall survive the current revolution of the masses. Ede Dafinone is therefore the man to beat in the coming election. He is the man Urhobo can trust with votes and have no regret in the long run.

If Urhobo must make progress in the coming dispensation, Ede Dafinone is the man to go to the senate to compliment the good works associated with Ovie Omo-Agege. We cannot make the mistake of sending the leviathan of political horror to represent us. We have seen what Rt Hon Francis Waive has done in the House of Representatives as a first termer with a performance record that dwarfs the performance of all his predecessors. With Dafinone, Waive and such other persons of like minds in the National Assembly, the output would be topnotch.

Dafinone is simple and good to go. The APC flag bearer is one man who will go any length to bring home the glory. Now is the time to send the best hands to the National Assembly because as Nigeria continues to refine her democratic experiment, a lot will happen in the coming dispensation. Urhobo needed men with courage and valour, men with the audacity to speak truth to power so we could get the best from the system. He is the most qualified, Experienced and Accomplished, we couldn’t ask for a better candidate.
