The Executive Director, Projects, of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has called on political support groups across Delta State to intensify grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 governorship election, insisting that sustaining the governor's administration is key to consolidating the state's development.

Okorodudu made the call on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by members of the Safe Delta Movement, Ughelli South Chapter, to his office at the DESOPADEC Headquarters in Warri.

Declaring that he has no personal political ambition, the DESOPADEC Projects Director said his sole political mission is to ensure Governor Oborevwori secures a second term in office to continue implementing his M.O.R.E. Agenda across the state.

"I have no political ambition of my own. Every support you give me is ultimately in support of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori because my focus is to work tirelessly for his re-election in 2027," he said.

He commended the Safe Delta Movement for its unwavering commitment to the governor, describing the group's mobilisation efforts as a demonstration of genuine dedication to the continued growth and development of Delta State.

Highlighting the governor's achievements over the past three years, Okorodudu said the Oborevwori administration has recorded remarkable infrastructural development despite not borrowing to fund its numerous projects. According to him, the construction of multiple flyovers, strategic road projects, and other landmark infrastructure across the state are clear evidence of prudent leadership and effective governance.

He maintained that returning Governor Oborevwori for a second term would guarantee continuity in infrastructure development and good governance, adding that the widespread support the governor enjoys across political and ethnic divides reflects the confidence Deltans have in his leadership.

Okorodudu also prayed for God's continued guidance and protection over the governor and expressed confidence that Oborevwori would secure a resounding victory in the 2027 governorship election.

Earlier, the Coordinator of the Safe Delta Movement, Ughelli South Chapter, Comrade Awhotu Tagan, said the delegation visited the DESOPADEC Executive Director to reaffirm the group's unwavering support for Governor Oborevwori and to identify with Okorodudu for his consistent commitment to the governor's administration.

Tagan disclosed that the Safe Delta Movement has structures across the three senatorial districts of the state and is actively mobilising support for the governor ahead of the 2027 polls.

"We are here because of your unwavering support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. We want to identify with you and seek your continued support as we mobilise, campaign and canvass votes to ensure the governor's victory in 2027," he said.

He added that the movement is collaborating with various non-indigenous associations, including the AREWA community and other interest groups, to broaden support for Governor Oborevwori across Delta State.

In her vote of thanks, the Women's Leader of the group, Erakivie Tega Mary, appreciated Dr. Okorodudu for the warm reception and praised his contributions to the development of DESOPADEC. She assured him of the group's commitment to working tirelessly to ensure Governor Oborevwori's re-election in 2027.

The visit was attended by the Coordinator, Comrade Awhotu Tagan; State Public Relations Officer, Orhode Moses; State Treasurer, Egbe Fidelis; Ughelli South PRO, Abotu Henry; Adviser, Wisdom Doghu; Mayor Aruba; Women's Leader, Tina Friday; Youth Chairman, Okiemute Majemite; Assistant Women's Leader, Utuoyo Loveth; Executive Assistant to the Executive Director, Engr.
