Press Release: Anambra Guber: Anambra Christian Groups Pray for Peaceful Poll

Anambra State will elect a new governor on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Many people have become genuinely worried and upbeat, considering the prevalent insecurity in the state.

To seek the face of God and ensure that the Anambra election turns out peaceful, credible and in tandem with the will of Ndi Anambra, the Universal Prayer Fellowship led by Evangelist Iwuchukwu Ezenwafor and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, OLD AGUATA LGA, led by Apostle Dr Chukwuemeka P. C. Ezekiel, organized an intercessory prayer on October 23, 2021, at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium.

The facilitators of the intercessory prayers believe strongly that the forthcoming Anambra election has something critical to do with the corporate destiny and future of Nigeria and therefore, they made a clarion call to all concerned, including candidates, political parties, INEC and its officials, to put all hands on deck to do the right thing and save the Nigerian nation from being fatally injured.

In a twelve-point prayer declaration which was in absolute obedience to God’s revelation, the Christian groups declared that Anambra State, as the light of the Nation is a standard-bearer, trailblazer and a typical example of what a composite state of Nigerian Federation should be.

They declared that the quality of the conduct of the Anambra election will reflect an exceptional improvement and thereby post an unusual credibility record that would revolutionize electioneering processes nationwide.

It was also consequently declared, that all shades of electoral manipulations, impunities and diverse malpractices shall this time not prosper against the Divine Will of the Lord God Almighty and the popular will of Ndi Anambra.

The Christian groups also declared that the Anambra electorate will be sensitively emboldened with resolute interest to act as a watchdog over the general operations of the election and conduct of the officials of the INEC.

Candidates and political parties in the forthcoming election were also warned to resist the temptation of acting as free moral agents to negate any or all of the prayer declarations for parochial, selfish intent and purposes because the consequences will be eternal misery in hundredfold, here and hereafter.
