Delta South Senatorial District Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief (Hon.)  Olivia Agbajoh has promised to revive the Delta Ports in Warri, Koko and Burutu if  elected.

Hon Agbajoh, a former House of Representatives member made this promise in Warri on Thursday while addressing  local government and ward chairmen of the Delta ADC during a meeting.

Hon Agbajoh, who dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the ADC said her brief stay in the  House of Representatives in the Second Republic, attracted the Nigeria Naval Base in Warri, adding that she is going to the Senate to ensure that the Delta Ports in Warri, Koko and Burutu come back to life.

She noted that the Delta Ports are  money spinning ventures to generate employment for Deltans and Nigerians and decongest the Lagos ports and its attendants gridlock on the Apapa/Oshodi expressway.

Hon Agbajoh noted that her Philanthropic gestures gives her joy and a sense of fulfillment saying that she is vying for the senate seat to attract more Federal presence to the district.

She appealed to the people of Delta South Senatorial District to come out in their numbers to vote in credible candidates who will put their interest first.

Hon. Agbajoh, former Commissioner in Delta State, lamented that in spite of the fact that Delta South Senatorial District is the most important district in the nation, it still remains the most backward in terms of development.

She noted that the developmental situation of Delta South Senatorial District does not reflect the abundance of wealth that it generated to the Federal Government, attributing this to lack of adequate representation by their representatives at the National Assembly.

The former Lawmaker  said her desire to run for the Delta South Senatorial race was borne out of the fact that the Legislative Arm of Government is  the core advocacy channel to attract development to her people.

She said, “It is on this note that I, Chief (Hon) Olivia Agbajoh, a Warri based Legal Practitioner is offering myself to serve as a Senator to represent Delta South Senatorial District come 2019. This quest is borne out of the fact that I know I have what it takes to give the people of Delta South effective Representation.

“My entire life journey has prepared me for this task and I have been tested and proven. In my brief stay in the Federal House of Representatives in 1983, I was able to among other things, attract the Naval Base to be established in Warri. Imagine what I would have been able to do if that dispensation was not truncated by a coup. Now imagine what I would be able to attract and do as a Senator.

Hon Agbajoh added that top on her agenda, if given the opportunity to represent her people will be to ensure that Warri Ports, Koko Ports and Burutu Ports becomes fully operational again, stressing that this will increase revenue and boost economic activities in the Area.

She also said that she will ensure that the Koko-Ogheye Road, Bomadi- Okpokunu-Gbaregolo Road with link bridge to Esama Ogbeiyama-Akuggbene Road, Kwale Road and a Federal Polytechnic for Ozoro, all come to fruition if she is given the opportunity.

“I will also get involved in Youth Development, women empowerment and many more projects to uplift the people of this Senatorial District. I have earlier said I know I have the prerequisite qualification to give my people effective representation at the Senate and my life journey has prepared me for this task,” Hon Agbajoh added.

Hon Agbajoh, who had been a Senior Magistrate, a Commissioner for Information and Culture, Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, Social Development, Youth and Sports, a Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperative and Tourism, said she believes that the wealth of experience she has gathered over the years, will come to bear if she is elected as Senator for Delta South come 2019.

She said that having also been a member of various Boards and Parastatals at different intervals, she was aware that there is power in the hands of the people to choose a credible representation at all levels, encouraging everyone that is 18 years and above to get their PVCs and exercise their civic responsibility in the 2019 general elections.

Earlier, the Delta State ADC Vice Chairman, Mr Kemeke M. Kemeke, had assured Olivia Agbajoh that the party was going to do its best to ensure that she emerged the Senator of Delta South Senatorial District come 2019.
