Chief Great Ogboru and Olorogun O’tega Emerhor have described the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district at the National Assembly; Senator Ovie Omo-Agege  as a man greatly loved by his people, even as Omo-Agege promised the Orogun people and the Urhobo nation that he will give them effective representation in the Senate.Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Olorogun O'tega Emerhor and Chief Great Ogboru, during Omo-Agege's reception at Orogun, Delta State.

The two prominent Urhobo leaders stated this during the grand reception organized for Senator Omo-Agege by people of Orogun kingdom, Ughelli North local government area, Delta State, over his election to victory and the victory at the Court of Appeal in Benin.

Omo-Agege who was overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd that gathered to receive him, stated that unlike the Biblical saying that, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own town and in his own home,” noted that by the special honour, giving to him the Orogun people have done even that which Jesus preferred His own people to do.

According to him, “you have demonstrated true love, though I obviously do not have the powers of Jesus Christ to help you. All I can do is to ask God the ruler of the heavens and earth to shower His love on you and this beautiful Orogun land in return for your special love for me.”

” I speak with honour and humility as Urhobo’s Senator because of your amazing unity during the 2015 election. For our common good, our elders, women and youths patiently cast their ballots for me and stood firmly to defend those ballots. You brought down every obstacle to our victory. When your votes poured in, it was clear that you made the real difference. What else can I say but to thank you? I am deeply grateful, my people.

“As you know, artificial obstacles were erected on our path even after our very clear electoral victory. But that is history. God has given us our due and we must forgive one another. This we must do in the interest of the Urhobo Nation. More than ever before, we need unity in Urhobo. We cannot use fruitless politics to destroy who we are. We are a people of great pride, history and heritage.

“During the campaigns, we made an irrevocable commitment to help our people in measurable ways. We declared our readiness to rescue and reposition the Urhobo Nation on a sustainable path of excellence using every tool of legislative power. We are already on that path.

“The path we have chosen for ourselves as Urhobos in the Senate is one of robust representation. Our ultimate agenda is to promote our people’s interest and that which increases our respect as a People who cannot be ignored. Today, with three Bills on Electoral Reforms, the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun and Sexual Harassment in Tertiary institution in my first three months in the Senate and more to come, we are making significant impacts in the National Assembly. Now, the Urhobo Nation is respected once again. Our voice is now heard loudly, clearly and intelligently.

“I have said it before and I will say it again. We have a duty to restore the legacies of our founding fathers. We must bring back the Mukoro Mowoe and Adogbeji Salubi’s type of leadership in Urhoboland. This is a task that calls for patriotic leadership. We must reject and overcome every force of darkness in Urhoboland. ‘Eje arioma so, Urhobo’.”

He also commended Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru and Olorogun Otega Emerhor for demonstrating openly to the Urhobo Nation and the entire world that truly Urhobo is one. “Because you have thoughtfully and responsibly put Urhobo’s collective interest above small politics, you can see for yourselves how joyful our people are. That is the stuff great leaders are made of. I am very grateful for your selfless contributions over the years and even now for our people. For replacing unnecessary mutual suspicion and acrimony with unity and hope for a better future for all, thank you so much.”

Chief Great Ogboru and Olorogun O’tega Emerhor in their remarks said that the crowd that came to receive Omo-Agege shows that he is a man loved by his people, adding that in three month Sen. Omo-Agege has made Urhobo proud in Senate.

Other prominent Urhobo leaders that graced the occasion includes: the  Chairman, of the event,  Chief (DIG) Marvel Akpoyibo, Gen. David Edjoor, Rtd, Col. Victor Edeki rtd, Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Chief Adolor Okotie-Eboh, Dr. Veronica Ogbuagu, all Urhobo’s kingdom President Generals.
