Nigeria @ 62: Nothing to celebrate says Apostle Igiehon

The Senior Pastor, Banner of Solution Christian Assembly International Incorporated, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Igiehon has described Nigeria as a nation that can only be redeemed by God’s divine intervention.

Apostle Dr Igiehon made this known while speaking to our correspondent on Nigeria’s independence anniversary in his church auditorium in Benin.

The Clergyman pointed out that Nigeria has deviated from the visions of those that agitated and fought for Nigeria to be independent because of massive corruption in all aspects of the economy and the inability of government to provide the enabling environment for its citizens to excel.

” There is nothing to celebrate in Nigeria for the healthcare system, education, security, roads, power and others are near total collapse. No enabling environment has been provided by government for the system to function. Our leaders fly outside the country to treat themselves even their children school abroad. The system in those countries are working and is attractive to them because the government over there provided the enabling environment for the system to work. Here, no power for artisans to work and the little they have is spent on fuel or diesel to power their equipment. Nigeria cannot provide 6 hours electricity or pipe borne water. Insecurity everywhere!. Farmers can’t go to the farm because of herdsmen killing and kidnapping people at will. Hunger and poverty is the order of the day here. So what is here to celebrate, you cannot tell people to assemble at the stadium to celebrate independence anniversary when they are hungry, poor and generally disappointed with government”.

Apostle Dr. Igiehon identified those elected to represent the interest of the people as the problem of Nigeria because as soon as they are elected they begin to embezzle public funds entrusted to them.

While saying that the problems if Nigeria has defiled solutions, Apostle Dr. Igiehon concluded that it will take the divine intervention of God to reverse the ugly socio- economic trend in Nigeria.
