Zacch Adedeji Gets Senate’s Approval as FIRS Boss

Zacch Adedeji was confirmed by the Senate as the FIRS Chairman on Tuesday following his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, led the plenary session where the confirmation occurred. Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor, lauded President Tinubu for honouring his word to give the younger generation a role in his administration and referred to Adedeji’s nomination as vidence.

Senator Sunday Katung, who hails from Kaduna South Senatorial District, mentioned that Adedeji delivered a splendid paper at the lawmaker’s retreat in Ikot Ekpene and proposed that they should let him “take a bow and go”.

Adedeji tackled some questions from the lawmakers on how to raise the nation’s revenue before he was confirmed by the Committee of the Whole. Adedeji was the Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council before he was appointed by President Tinubu on September 14.
