A coalition of youths from Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas has unanimously endorsed Chief Promise Lawuru as their preferred candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 elections, pledging to purchase his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form.

The endorsement was announced at a press briefing where the youths declared their readiness to bankroll Lawuru’s aspiration, describing him as a unifying figure with the capacity to deliver effective representation. They said funds have already been mobilised and would be deployed once the APC opens its nomination window.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Prince Nosa Temisan Owei said the decision followed broad consultations across the three Warri councils, noting that Lawuru’s leadership qualities and commitment to the people informed their choice.

“We hereby endorse Chief Promise Lawuru as our sole candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency. He is a man who stands by his word and has the interest of the people at heart. We will support him through the primaries and beyond,” he said.

Representing non-indigenes, Mr. Moses Aguda described Lawuru as a bridge-builder who transcends ethnic lines, stressing that the endorsement reflects a shared desire for inclusive and people-focused representation.

“We see politics beyond tribal sentiments. Lawuru represents unity and has demonstrated the capacity to serve the entire constituency effectively,” he stated.

Youth leaders from the major ethnic groups in Warri also aligned with the endorsement. Hon. Gbite Victor Osanweren, speaking on behalf of Itsekiri youths, said the support reflects a collective commitment to a youth-driven agenda. In contrast, Hon. Eburu Kelly, representing Urhobo youths, noted that stakeholders across communities have agreed to rally behind Lawuru.

Similarly, Mr. Pake Apataimini, speaking for Ijaw youths, said the endorsement was based on a careful assessment of Lawuru’s track record and potential to exceed expectations in office.

The development signals growing grassroots momentum within the APC in Delta State, as youth groups across Warri consolidate support for Lawuru ahead of the party’s primaries and the 2027 general elections.
